Realized that I don’t think I actually shared this photo. My school’s newsmagazine did a piece on the righteous* students that went to protest during the Prop 8 and DOMA hearings. Was feeling super down that day but I found this copy of the newsmagazine sitting in the school cafe. Whoever changed the title made my day 10,000x better.

Old title: “Camping out for a cause: SVU students rally in support of traditional marriage.”
New title: “Camping out for a cause: SVU students rally in support of traditional discrimination against gays.”

*most likely just assholes and not actually good people

My best friend gets asked frequently by his dad about having a girlfriend.
The other day I was in the car with them and after a few uncomfortable questions, my friend finally turned to him and said “Dad, I’m gay.”
After a brief awkward silence he turned back to him and said, “Well, do you have a boyfriend?”
Good parents GMH.

WINDOW SHOPPING
I saw you, stroling down the street together.
“Two girls out shopping,” smug Convention said.
Convention is at times so unobserving,
Convention overlooked the carefree tred
Of steps aimed toward pursuit of happiness
Rather than mundane errands; did not spy
The intertwining of slim, gentle fingers,
The furtive glances, half bold, yet half shy.
Your touseled, unbound tresses intermingled
As you both bent close, apparently to stare
At dresses in the windows. (Those same windows
Reflected two ecstatic faces there!)
No, Convention did not see, she would have frowned.
But I saw, and my heart was deeply moved
As I recalled my days of gay romancing.
I smiled and wished you well, for I approved.

I want to perform this as a monologue! Love it!

This is an old family picture.
My family does not support my being in the LGBTQIA community. They actually are opposed to it. They tell me every day that its disgusting and that it’s sinful and I’ll go to hell for liking women. I moved out when I was seventeen, and in January I moved back in with them because I couldn’t handle everything that was going on. Every day one of my five siblings tells me to go back to Minnesota. My little brother Charlie (the black baby in the picture) is now 8 and he constantly physically attacks me and tells me that I’m not his sister and to leave. My other siblings make it very obvious and clear that they don’t want me here and my parents tell me constantly that they’re gonna kick me out soon. I’ve been saving every penny for a bus ticket to Oregon to stay with my best friend and today I found this picture in my sisters’ room ON DISPLAY. Not hidden. On display. They cut my face out of the picture.
And that… That was just the last straw. I don’t care if anyone reblogs this or whatever, I don’t wanna get popular, I just want people to know that this is not what a family looks like. This is not something people should have to go through.
This is no life.

This is horrible.

disco-golf-balls asked: I followed you back based on your url alone--2 Halloweens ago, me and 3 of my friends were Mormon missionaries, and my 2 guy friends allowed me to take "Gay Mormon" pictures of them and your url reminded me of that. lol. But I looked through your blog and I happen to like that, too! :)

I am glad you had a good time, sounds like a good memory! That is great that you like my blog! Thank you for the follow. :)

thatweirdoontheinternet asked: Hun, you're not alone. As long as you have a strong belief of the gospel. There's nothing wrong with you. I am also a Mormon and I love you very much and He does too. Love is love. :)

I know I am not alone! As long as there are members like you then we will never be alone. Thank you for your support! I know it is not always easy to be an ally and be a member of the church.
